Best Experience Gifts in Los Angeles

A Mystery Picnic Experience

mystery picnic los angeles

Are you looking for a unique experience that involves food and fun? AmazingCo offers a mystery picnic experience in Los Angeles & Orange County. Picnic experiences have been popping up all over Instagram but this one is different. Unlike the companies that set up tables and decor for you to have an Instaworthy picnic, this is an experience and adventure that ultimately leads to a picnic. This could be really fun to gift someone. You can find out more information here.

Crafted

For my Christmas present last year my best friend gifted me with a candle-making class through Banter and Bliss. They are located at Crafted in San Pedro and the experience was so much fun! I love giving/getting an experience as a gift. Plus, a candle is something you can get to enjoy for quite a while. Throughout COVID the way the class is operating has been different ranging from in-person to virtual.

You can visit the Banter and Bliss website here.

Gondola Ride

gondola getaway long beach

Gondola Getaway will take you for a ride around the Naples Canals in Long Beach. This was a surprise for me on the day that I got engaged and I think it is such a fun experience. Rides are available for two people or a bigger group. You can even have a pizza dinner ride! It would be so fun to do this when the Christmas lights are up.

You can visit the Gondola Getaway website here.

Sunny Day Scoot

This is one on my to-do list and something that I contemplated getting my future husband for Christmas. This company does sightseeing tours of LA from little go-karts. It reminds me of Mario Kart but in real life. I think this is something that would be so fun for locals and visitors alike.

You can visit the Sunny Day Scoot website here.

A Membership to One of the LA Gardens

huntington library gardens

Whether you gift a membership or one-time tickets any of the three main gardens in LA would be fantastic. They are a place we can go and still enjoy the outdoors in a safe way. You can choose from The Huntington Library, The LA Arboretum, and Descanso Gardens.

what to do on Catalina Island

Catalina Ticket

Catalina Island is a short distance off the coast of Los Angeles. It can be a fun escape for the day or for the weekend. Typically it cost over $70 for a roundtrip ticket. However, at various times throughout the year, you can get a deal through Groupon for $44. This is a great experience to surprise someone with. Especially, if they have not been before.

Best Gift Cards for Los Angeles

In N Out

Californians love their In N Out burger. This is a gift card that they are sure to eat up!

Sprinkles

sprinkles cupcakes california

Sprinkles cupcakes are a favorite among celebrities and locals. The cupcakes are incredibly tasty and some locations even have a 24-hour cupcake atm machine for cupcakes at any hour of the day. We received a Sprinkles Baking Book as a wedding gift and have absolutely loved trying out the recipes. You can find it here.

Other Gift Ideas

Sand Free Towels from Tesalate

tesalate sand free towels

Tesalate towels are perfect for beach lovers. I hate getting sand all over my car. These towels are sand free which makes my visits to the beach a breeze. Plus, they are absorbent and dry in half the time of a regular towel. I love how easy it is to carry. This is a useful gift that they can use throughout the year. You can find them here.

Picnic or Beach Stuff

Whether it is a picnic basket or beach chairs we have plenty of reasons to use those items out here in LA.

A California Shaped Cutting Board/Charcuterie Board

I love my board so much. I always have it sitting out as a decorative piece even when I am not actively using it. You can find the board on Amazon here.

A Market Tote

I love my Long Beach market tote, I got mine as a swag bag at an event, and I’ve seen some cute navy totes in Newport Beach at some stores. Amazon sells blank ones so if you have a Cricut machine you can customize one. I did find a seller on Etsy that looks like she can customize a market tote bag as well.

Reusable Straws

Since most places have paper straws that get soggy reusable straws can come in very handy.
