A lot of people, myself included love, listening to music. Especially live music. However, going to concerts can get expensive real quick. That is why I am so excited to share with you a few different ways that you can go to concerts for free! Some of the ways that I mention may only apply to the Los Angeles area but my hope is that at least one of these tricks will work for you no matter where you live.

Here are 5 different techniques on how to go to concerts for free.

1. Radio Station Contests

My first recommendation is to actively try to win tickets through radio stations. Last year I went to see Ellie Goulding in concert for free. A friend of mine called in to play Battle of the Sexes on the radio and won two tickets. Another friend of mine won tickets to see Brad Paisley by entering a contest on a local radio stations website. When he went to pick up the concert tickets from the radio station they gave him tickets to another concert for the next day that no one had picked up. You cannot win the tickets unless you have the courage to enter. I know that getting through the phone line can be tricky but there’s no reason you can’t enter the radio contests online. Go to the website for the radio stations in your area and click on contests.

2. Enter Facebook Contests

Once again you cannot enter unless you win. A few weeks ago I entered a Facebook contest to win tickets to see Shawn Mendes in concert. All that you had to do was tag a friend in the comment section. Well, my friend that I tagged won the tickets so he and I got to attend another concert for free. It took no extra time out of our day to type in one name. The concert was amazing! We had so much fun.

3. Attend a free mini-concert through Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Jimmy Kimmel has several free mini concerts throughout the summer and fall. Tickets are available through 1iota. Bands like Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, and more have performed as part of the concert series.

4. Attend an in-store event

Recently, Macy’s across the US held mini-concerts with the IHeartRadio rising star finalist. I saw James Maslow from Big Time Rush at the event that I attended. Not only did we get a free concert, we even got to meet James at the event.

5. Enter to win concert tickets through the Surkus App

Recently, free tickets were given out to see Beyonce. These are contests through the app but very easy to enter. You can learn more about the Surkus App here.
