Does the idea of visiting a wax museum seem a little creepy? That is how I felt for several years which is why I have never visited Madame Tussauds Hollywood before. However, now I see that I have been missing out on a fun experience. Recently, I was using the Go City LA Pass to try some new things around town, and since Madame Tussauds is one of the attractions included I finally decided to check it out. I have been raving about my experience ever since.

Before I get started in sharing why Madame Tussauds is worth visiting I want to dig in and share ways that you can save on your visit to the wax museum.

How to Save Money at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood

Take Advantage of the Go LA Pass

If you want a day or multiple days filled with visiting some of the best attractions that Los Angeles has to offer I have to recommend the Go City LA Pass for you. What is the Go LA Card? It is a money-saving card that gives you access to several great attractions around the city of LA. You can use the card from 9 am to 5:30 pm.

There is no limit to how many attractions you can visit in one day. Some of my favorite attractions included with the card are the Warner Bros Studio Tour, the Santa Monica Pier, the Grammy Museum, and the Huntington Library. If you buy the three-day card you can even get access to Universal Studios. This is such a money-saving tool! You can purchase a Go City La Pass here.

Just Need Tickets to Madame Tussauds?

If you don’t need tickets to multiple attractions there are other ways that you can still save. Sometimes you decide that you want to go spur of the moment. And that’s fine. You’ll just need to purchase your ticket ahead of time in order to save money. If you purchase your ticket directly from the Madame Tussauds website you will save $10 compared to what you’ll pay upon walking up.

Skip Out On the Overpriced Photos

They have a few photo spots which I will admit are very cute. However, I am so over having to pay $25 for a single picture. So I just want to encourage you to take all the photos you want on your phone.

How Much Time Should You Plan For?

My friend and I took about 90 mins to 2 hours inside and I felt like that was a good amount of time. We were there around 11 am on a weekday and did not have to wait for other people to finish their photos before we could take our own.

Where Is The Best Place To Park?

The easiest place to park, especially for those of you not familiar with the area is at the Hollywood & Highland Center. The maximum parking rate for this center is $15. If you eat at one of the restaurants like California Pizza Kitchen you could pay less depending on how long you stay. $15 is pretty fair for the area. You might be able to get parking at a meter for less but you’ll have to move your car within two hours. I took the metro so I didn’t half to deal with parking.

Why Is Madame Tussauds Hollywood Worth Visiting?

I love going to places that are interactive. Some of the photo displays had props and I love recreating scenes from movies so this place was incredible for me. We live in such a selfie-centered society that this place is bound to be enjoyed by many.

I was thrilled to see that they even had a pair of angel wings. If you love taking photos with angel wings like I do you’ll want to check out this post on all of the Colette Miller Angel Wings in LA.

Other Fun Things To Do In The Area

walk of fame

Take tours of the Dolby Theatre and/or the TCL Chinese Theatre. Both are included with the Go LA Card. You can go across the street to explore the Roosevelt Hotel. This was home to the very first Oscars. You can also find the stars for your favorite stars on the Walk of Fame. Just be aware of the creeps that line Hollywood Boulevard who will try to hand you stuff or want you to pay to get pictures with them. Disney fans are sure to cross the street and at least take a glimpse at the beautiful El Capitan Theatre.
