This summer has been filled with concerts and it is making me so happy! Last night two friends and I went to see the Michelle Branch Hopeless Romantic tour at the El Rey Theatre Los Angeles. You might be familiar with some of Michelle’s hit songs like Everywhere and Goodbye to You. Her songs were very popular in the early 2000’s. I remember when I was in high school she put together a country group called The Wreckers, but that didn’t last too long. After a long break, Michelle is back with a new album & tour called Hopeless Romantic.

My friend Bruno asked a few months ago if I would want to see Michelle Branch in concert and I was surprised that she was touring. It has been a long time since I’ve heard new music from her. However, since I really enjoy her old songs I thought the concert would be a lot of fun. This was my first concert at the El Rey Los Angeles. The venue is on Wilshire Boulevard near Milk Jar Cookies. If you have never had a cookie from that place be sure to stop in. They are amazing!!

Parking at the El Rey can be frustrating due to the majority of the street signs that say no parking between 8pm-6am. I was able to find free parking near the Staples store on Wilshire. If you cannot find street parking El Rey does offer valet parking.

The only thing that I disliked about this venue was how hot it was. Other than that I thought it was a fun place to go for a concert. Before Michelle came on stage a band called Haerts performed. Even though Michelle has a new album she did a great job of playing many of her old hits which all of the fans really appreciated. Her voice is still strong and smooth. The only thing I was a little bummed out by was the fact that she sang two of my favorite songs slower and less pop than what I’m used to. However, all in all, the concert was a lot of fun. If you were ever a fan of Michelle’s music you would enjoy the Hopeless Romantic tour.
