For several people, their birthday is one of the best days of the year. Well, if you join enough birthday clubs you can enjoy birthday freebies in Los Angeles for several days. From free food to free experiences, and shopping discounts, this post has you covered. Whether you are a local or will just be visiting around your birthday be sure to take advantage of these freebies.
For my birthday in 2022, I tracked all of the birthday freebies and deals that I got. There are some places that sent me something in 2021 and didn’t in 2022. Maybe some places only do it for the first year you’re in their rewards program. I tried to notate when a reward arrived, how long I had to use it, and the approximate value. My birthday is 12/23 to help give you a reference as certain rewards that arrived on 12/1 might not arrive on the first day of your birthday month depending on the date of your birthday.

Tips for Getting Birthday Freebies in LA
- Have an email address dedicated to email lists, that way your regular email list won’t get overloaded with offers
- Keep track of when certain freebies expire so that you don’t miss out on any
- Pay extra attention to whether an item is free on its own or if you will need to make a purchase to be eligible to redeem it
- Birthday Freebies can change at any time so I apologize if you aren’t able to redeem everything listed here. I do my best to keep this as up-to-date as possible to help this be a great resource.

A Free Meal at Benihana
Benihana has one of the best birthday offerings for those who join their free program called The Chef’s Table. I joined this club last fall and during the month of my birthday, I was sent a $30 gift certificate. In order to use the gift certificate, you need to purchase a second adult dinner entree. My Mom and I came here on my birthday and we had a great time.
My reward arrived via email on 12/13 and expires on 1/10.
Free Dessert From California Pizza Kitchen
This makes the list because of how delicious the dessert is. Have you ever tried butter cake? It is one of my favorite desserts at any restaurant which is saying a lot. Those who sign up for their Pizza Dough Rewards program will get a free dessert during the month of their birthday. If I want a pizza this is my go-to place. The butter cake is almost seven dollars and if you add ice cream it would be over eight dollars so getting a free dessert is awesome! To sign up for Pizza Dough Rewards click here.
I did not get an email about this dessert but found the reward via the CPK app. Since I don’t check the app daily I’m not sure at what point it arrived in the app but it expires on 12/31. The approximate value is $7.75.
A Free Appetizer Or Dessert From The Lazy Dog
I am sure that the appetizers are great but I love the dessert at the Lazy Dog so much that I always pick that for my freebie. You can sign up for their email club here.
In 2022, I got the email with the reward on 12/23 but in previous years I have gotten it earlier. The offer is valid for 90 days. The approximate value varies on what you order.
A $25 Credit To Landry’s Restaurants
The Landry’s Select Club is a rewards program that you can sign up for. It does cost $25 to join but you will receive a $25 credit to use toward a meal. During the month of your birthday, you will receive another $25 credit. There are several restaurants owned by Landry’s including Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Morton’s, and more. You earn points on every visit and will get an additional $25 credit for every $250 you spend. When you show up at one of the Landry restaurants and show your Landry’s Select Club card you will receive priority seating. My parents joined and they really like it.
Claim Jumper
Claim Jumper is one of the restaurants that used to be part of Landry’s Select Club. You can now join their own rewards program to get a birthday dessert. I forgot to join in time for my birthday so I’ll have to track this one for my next birthday.
Experience Medieval Times For Free
This is another place where you can get a free experience with the purchase of a second ticket. It is a fun place to go for both dinner and a show. If you join their email club you can go for free on your birthday. With tickets for Medieval Times starting at $61.95 going for free is awesome. I enjoyed going as an adult and I think children would really enjoy it too.
Get a Colossal Brownie Sundae at Buca Di Beppo
When you sign up for their email list and dine at Buca di Beppo around your birthday you’ll get a free colossal brownie valued at $18.99.
Get $5 off from The Veggie Grill
Sign up for Veggie Grill Rewards to get the discount.
My reward arrived via email on 12/16 and expires on 12/30.
Get a Free Doughnut from Sidecar
Join the Sidecar rewards club and get a free doughnut for your birthday. The offer was loaded onto my account through the Sidecar app. It was sent to me on the first day of my birthday month, it didn’t say how long I had to use it but I would assume through your birthday if not the end of the month.
My reward was loaded on the app on December 1st with a whole month to use it. I did get an email about the reward being in the app which was how I knew to look. The approximate value is $4.35 to $5.75 depending on which doughnut you get.
Get a Free Bundtlet From Nothing Bundt Cakes
This is the go-to cake store for me. The picture at the top is my birthday cake from last year which came from Nothing Bundt Cakes. They have cakes of all sizes all of which are fresh and soft and Devine. My personal favorite is the White White Chocolate and I would highly recommend that flavor. If you join their email club you will be able to get a bundtlet, a mini bundt cake, in the flavor of your choice.
My reward arrived via email on 12/16 and expires on 12/30. The approximate value is $5.50.
Get a Free Pizza from Big Mama and Papa’s Pizzeria
Sign up for a free birthday pizza here. This is good for a medium one-topping pizza.
My reward arrived via email on 12/21 and is valid for 6 days.
Get a free cookie from Crumbl Cookie on Your Birthday
Once you create an account on the Crumbl website be sure to fill out your profile. You will need to add your birthday after your account is created. I got a text message with a QR code to redeem the cookie. They give you five weeks to redeem your cookie.
The Crumbl Cookie birthday reward arrived on 12/23 via email and is valid though 1/31.

Get Free Points From the Disney Movie Insiders Program
Anyone registered for the Disney Movie Insiders will receive bonus points on their birthday. You can redeem your points for various rewards like DVDs, gift cards, a tour of the Walt Disney Studios, and occasionally movie premieres.
Get a Free Cupcake From Sprinkles
Join the Sprinkles Perks program to get a free cupcake around the time of your birthday. You can read more about Sprinkles here. If you are a big Sprinkles fan I got the recipe book which is incredible. I highly recommend it, you can find it here on Amazon.
I got an email on 12/22 that the reward had been loaded onto the Sprinkles App and was valid until 1/21. The approximate value is $6.
Get a Free Birthday Car Wash
In order to get this free offer you’ll need to sign up for the text program with Fashion Square Car Wash in Sherman Oaks. They have responded to people on social media who said they didn’t get the free car wash. What those people were told is to “come in a week before or after your bday and show the cashier your id and she will honor it and help with your texts.” You can sign up here.
Get a Free Scoop of Ice Cream from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream
Show a valid id proving it is your birthday and you can get a scoop of some delicious ice cream! No need to sign up for an email club for this freebie.
Black Angus Steakhouse
This freebie is limited to a one-time use but members will receive a free steak dinner with the purchase of an adult entree. Join the prime club to redeem this. On future birthdays you should be able to get the cowboy cookie for free.

Join the char club for the habit grill to get this free burger.
I got an email that the reward was loaded onto the app on 12/16 and was valid until 12/29. The approximate value is $5.59.
Get a Free Pizza from the Alamo Drafthouse
Those who are part of the victory rewards program will receive a free pizza for their birthday. They have currently paused the free birthday ticket according to their website. I am not sure how the free pizza reward is redeemed, it has not appeared in my Alamo app and I have not gotten an email about it. However, their website mentions the reward so I guess if you go on your birthday ask for it. I’m sorry I don’t have a better tip for this one.
Get a Free Large Popcorn From AMC Theatres
You can join the free version of the AMC Stubs program to receive this freebie. Members of the paid program will get free popcorn and a drink. Regal Crown Club members can get free popcorn as well. Harkins Theatres will give reward members a $5 concessions credit.
This reward appeared in my AMC app without an email letting me know so I am not sure what day it arrived. My reward expires on 12/31.

Get a Free Burger & Fries From Red Robin
This is a popular eatery that offers a free burger during the month of your birthday for members of Red Robin Royalty. You can register for Red Robin Royalty online or in the restaurant. In addition to getting a free burger for your birthday, you can also earn a free item after nine visits. If you have a Red Robin in your area be sure to sign up for a freebie.
Get a Free Drink or Pastry From Starbucks
They will give you a free drink on your birthday if you join My Starbucks Rewards. You will need to join at least thirty days before your birthday to take advantage of this deal. In order to join My Starbucks Rewards, you will need a gift card. For Starbucks lovers, this is a nice birthday perk!
This reward is only available on your birthday. The approximate value is $5.75.
Get a Free Coffee or Pastry from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
Last year I didn’t sign up for this freebie in time but this year I was able to redeem it. Sign up for coffee bean rewards to get started. For this birthday reward, you do need to make one purchase within 4 months of your birthday to qualify.
The reward for a free drink or pastry was loaded onto my account on 12/23 and I had 3 days to redeem it. The approximate value is $6.15.
Get a Free Entree from the Old Spaghetti Factory
The free classic pasta for your birthday is back!! I got a salad, spaghetti with marinara, and spumoni ice cream as my birthday reward this year. You can sign up for Trolley Rewards here.

2 Free Tickets to an LA Kings Hockey Game

Krispy Kreme used to give you a free dozen glazed donuts for your birthday. In 2023 the birthday email that I got was for three free donuts. that can be redeemed through the app anytime during the month of your birthday.

When you download their app you’ll automatically get a free milkshake or side. For your birthday they will add a dessert to your account. You can sign up here.
I got an email on 12/16 letting me know the reward was loaded on my app and that I had 30 days to redeem it. The approximate value is $5.49.
$10 Off at Maggiano’s Little Italy
I love eating at Maggiano’s at The Grove. Members of their e club will get $10 off any check over $30 for their birthday.
My email arrived on 12/9 and the reward expires on 1/8.
Are you looking for a fun activity to do to celebrate your birthday? Consider booking a mystery picnic. You will be given clues that lead you to designated spots to pick up the items for your picnic. Ben & Jerry’s will give rewards members a free scoop of ice cream. I got the email with the offer a few days before the end of the month before my birth month. The email said that I had until the end of my birth month to use it. The approximate value is $5.75.
Free Ride With Long Beach Water Bikes
You can sign up to receive texts from the Long Beach Water Bikes. Shortly after signing up, they asked for my birthday. I got the information for my free birthday ride via text on 12/16. It did state that I needed to redeem it by 12/23. I knew I was planning to do this experience with family visiting on 12/31 but the website would not let me use the birthday reward for that date. I ended up calling and asking if I could use the free ride on 12/31 and they were able to accommodate my free ride after my birthday. Now, I did have 3 other people making a purchase so maybe that helped but definitely call if you can’t make the dates work for you.

WOW! This was one of my favorite freebies of the year. I got a slice of the celebration cake because it was so beautiful. The slice is gigantic so I was able to split it between four people. You can sign up here. The reward arrived via email on 12/20 and is valid for 30 days.
Plant Power Fast Food Will Give you a Free Milkshake
I have to be honest and say this was my least favorite of all the freebies I tried this year. Plant based meat is fine with me but I hadn’t tried their milkshakes before and I was not a fan. But, if it’s something you want to try be sure to join their rewards program.

Target Circle members will get an offer of 5% off a purchase.
$5 off reward for Hallmark
Hallmark Goldcrown rewards members will get a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $10 or more.
Chick-Fila One Members Will Get a Birthday Freebie
The reward will vary depending on which tier you’re in. For 2022, I was in the silver tier and got a choice of a free dessert. I ended up getting a peppermint milkshake. You can sign up for rewards here.
Get a Free Drink at Raising Canes
Members of the caniac club will get a free drink loaded onto the club card for their birthday. If you aren’t already a member I encourage joining. The program is free and after you join you’ll get a free box combo for your next visit. The card does have to be requested in-store.
Get a free pastry from Panera Bread
I didn’t get an email about this one in 2022 but when I checked the app I saw my reward. My reward expired 7 days after my birthday but I’m not sure when it got loaded onto the app. You can sign up for the rewards program here.
