I am constantly looking for new places to check out in Los Angeles. Especially places that have fabulous views of the city of angels. A long time ago I stumbled across a picture of someone on a bench with a gorgeous view of DTLA behind them. I saved the photo on my Instagram but it wasn’t until recently that I finally had time to go check it out. Oh my goodness I couldn’t believe what a hidden gem Vista Hermosa Park is!

Does this give 500 Days of Summer vibes to anyone else? It isn’t the same spot used for that movie but I think this one is even better. This park 10.5 acres which is a good size for being so close to the heart of downtown.
I was expecting something small so I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing small is the parking lot. There is a lot of parking available in the neighborhood though.
The bench is towards the opposite end of the park from where you enter so don’t expect to find it right away. When my Mom and I reached the bench we found a group of medical students who were having a picnic and taking lots of photos. This is a popular spot for sure. I absolutely loved the view and kept imagining coming back for a picnic on a date or for a get-together with my friends. There are plenty of picnic tables and open spaces.
