Film festivals take place on a regular basis in Los Angeles. Some of the festivals can easily cost hundreds of dollars to attend. However, you can get free tickets to AFI Fest! Previously I got a free ticket to the AFI Fest Indie Contender Roundtable. For the 2018 AFI Fest, I currently have free tickets to the premieres of Greenbook and Mary Queen of Scots. Unfortunately, for the 2019 fest, there will not be free tickets.

Get Free Tickets to AFI Fest
How do you get free tickets to AFI Fest? Beginning early November free tickets are released daily for all of the festival screenings and panels. The only annoying part of this process is that there is no set time of day that the tickets are released I have had the best luck redeeming tickets between 1pm and 1:30pm.
Before you redeem the tickets you will need to create an account through the AFI website. You will have to be logged in to the account to access the free tickets once they are available. When the tickets are available you will be able to redeem up to two tickets for a screening. You are limited to two gala screenings.
Is there a catch to the free tickets? Yes. You are not guaranteed to get into the screening. That is why it is important to line up early to increase your odds of making it inside.
Where Does AFI Fest Take Place?
AFI Fest takes place in Hollywood. Screenings and panels are hosted at various locations like the TCL Chinese Theatre, the Roosevelt Hotel, and the Egyptian Theatre.
