If you have read some of my other Disney posts you know that I am a big fan! Finding new Disney related places to visit is one of my favorite things to do. I first learned about Walt Disney’s favorite restaurant the Tam O’Shanter Inn back when I was working at The Disneyland Resort. It has taken me years to finally make to the restaurant but it has officially been crossed off my Disney bucket list.

The Tam O’Shanter restaurant has a classic yet cozy vibe that starts with the exterior which reminded me of a cottage. In the lobby, you can find a drawing that Walt Disney made for the owner. You can also find a picture of Walt Disney with the owner on the wall. In one of the dining rooms, you can see Walt’s table. There is a plaque on the table indicating that it was where Walt sat.
Unfortunately, even though the people sitting there were done with their food when I arrived for dinner they talked for over an hour and were still there when I left. So I didn’t get a picture of the booth. Oh well, guess I’ll just have to go back!
The picture above is from the dining room with Walt’s table. My Mom and I sat at the table next to Walt’s. The decor reminded me of the tavern from Tangled. Looking around it was easy to see that Walt got some inspiration from Fantasyland at the restaurant.

Tam O’Shanter Restaurant Menu
The Tam O’Shanter menu has a variety of choices but your meal can become a pricey one pretty quick. My Mom and I each ordered a salad with one side each and one dessert to split. The food and two cokes with tip came to $75. It definitely isn’t the type of place that I would eat at often due to the price but it was worth it for the experience.
I ordered the wedge salad and my Mom ordered the Caesar salad. We both agreed my salad was the winner.
My Mom ordered wild mushrooms which were delicious though I could not get enough of my side which was a twice baked potato. Twice baked potatoes are so rare to find on a menu so I am over the moon when I can find them.
The best part of the meal was the chocolate soufflé. My research prior to our visit helped me to know that this is something you should order at the start of your meal because of how long it takes to prepare. I had never had a soufflé before and I was not disappointed. It had such a fantastic taste and was made very well.
