Raging Waters in LA
We have several options when it comes to water parks in LA County & Orange County. Hurricane Habor at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Raging Waters are in LA County. Knotts Soak City and Wild Rivers are in Orange County. Each of the water parks has something different to offer guests and depending on what you want out of your visit as well as the ages of your group can help determine which park is right for you. We have visited Hurrican Harbor and Wild Rivers and have recapped our experiences. We look forward to visiting Soak City so we can properly compare all of the water parks and help you make a decision on which one to visit.

Lockers
All-day locker rentals are available in three areas: the Main Gate, adjacent to Neptune’s Fury, and near Turtle’s Landing gift shop. I have not rented a locker myself as I keep my money and car key in my waterproof phone pouch which I take on all the attractions with me or leave it with someone in my group. However, depending on how much stuff you bring with you a locker might be the perfect choice for you.
Large lockers rent for $25 per day
Dimensions: 16L x 22W x 17D
Standard lockers rent for $20 per day
Dimensions: 13L x 17W x 16D
Regular lockers rent for $15 per day
Dimensions: 10L x 14W x 16D
Attractions
Riders will be weighed for select attractions due to weight restrictions. Most of the attractions do have cubies where you can leave your shoes or you can wear water shoes on most of the attractions. They will let you know if you cannot wear them.
Amazon Adventure (lazy river) – there are floats available on a first come first serve basis. Good for all ages.
Aqua Rocket – this is an aqua coaster that is one of the best attractions in the park. It can hold up to 4 riders per tube but the weight cannot exceed 700 pounds. Minimum height: 42″ (Adult required for under 48″)
Bomb’s Away – step inside an enclosed tube and wait for the bottom to drop as you plunge down the slide. I would love to tell you that I have tried this one myself but I am too scared. Minimum height: 48″
Dark Hole – there are two 500-foot-long flumes with an overall drop of 52 feet through total darkness. Minimum height: 42″. Maximum weight: 400 lbs./double tube or 250 lbs./single tube
Dr. Von Dark’s Tunnel of Terror – experience drops, vertical banks, and spins in total darkness. Minimum Height: 48″. Maximum Weight: 400 lbs/tube for 2 riders.
Dragon’s Den – the slide starts off with a drop and then you spin around a 35-foot bowl with a dragon. One of the times I rode this one my back was slammed into one of the pieces that helps push you out of the slide. I was bruised but overall okay. You may want to pack Tylenol or something similar on the off chance something like this happens to you. Minimum Height: 48″. Maximum Weight: 400 lbs or a double tube for 250 lbs for a single tube.
High Extreme – this is the tallest attraction in the park and requires guests to climb a lot of stairs. This could be a challenging attraction for those who are afraid of heights. Before climbing the stairs you will need to wait for a blue mat to become available. At the top of the slide, you will lie down on your stomach to go down the 600′ long flume. You can go up to 35 miles per hour. Water will most likely get in your face but this one is really fun. Minimum Height: 48″. Maximum Weight: 300 lbs.
Kid’s Kingdom – the little ones will have a blast playing in the 30,000-square-foot water playground. There is no height requirement so it is open to all of the young visitors under 48″.
Lily Pads – if you love a challenge you will enjoy the Lily Pads. You will use an overhead rope to step from Lily Pad to Lily Pad. Must be tall enough to reach the rope. The rope is 76″ off the ground.
Little Dipper Lagoon – little visitors under 48″ can enjoy mini slides, wading pools, fountains & waterfalls.
Neptune’s Fury – this attraction sends a 4-person raft into darkness in a 30 mph 600-foot-long slide. Minimum Height: 42″ (Adult required for those under 48″). Maximum Weight: 800 lbs per raft (2-4 riders).
Ragin’ Racer – 8 racers at a time can go head to head in this downhill race. Water will splash on your face as you lie on your stomach to experience this attraction. Minimum Height: 42″. Maximum Weight: 300 lbs.
Speed Slides – If you enjoy drops the speed slides Raging Rocket and Screamer are for you. Minimum Height: 48″.
Splash Island Adventure – This play area features more than 75 activities for young visitors but there is a minimum height requirement of 36″.
The Bermuda Triangle – choose between three twisting, turning, and downward tunnel slides. Minimum Height: 48″.
Thunder Rapids – enjoy a 550-foot-long and 14-foot-wide flume in a five-person raft. This is one of the few slides that does have any darkness. Minimum Height: 36″ (Adult required for under 48″). Maximum Weight: 900 lbs (2-5 riders).
Volcano Fantasea – climb into a volcano and go down twisting slides. Minimum Height: 36″ to ride Volcano Fantasea slides and 42″ to ride Shipwreck slides.
Wave Cove – the wave pool has three-foot waves for guests to enjoy. Guests under 48″ are required to wear a life jacket. They do have complimentary life jackets available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What to Know Before You Go
- Arrive early! We recommend getting to the park before it opens so that you can already be in line when the gates open at 10 am. This is especially important if you do not plan on getting the H2GO pass as arriving early will help you be able to do more attractions before the park gets busier. The only downside is that you may be colder on the attractions earlier in the day but it is amazing how much you can get down in the first hour or two that the park is open compared to later in the day.The first thing you will need to do once inside the park is figure out what area you want to put your stuff down in. I normally claim chairs and leave my items by the lazy river (Amazon Adventure). We always have a hard time finding open tables for us to use to eat our lunch so having chairs makes such a big difference for us.
- Buy water shoes and a waterproof phone pouch before your visit.
- Raging Waters is cashless. They accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. They do have kiosks at the park where you can convert cash to a card.
- Want to change clothes before you leave? They do have changing and shower facilities located in the lower pavilion restrooms between Icee Mix it Up and Backyard BBQ or between Turtles Landing and the upper pavilion stairway.
