What to do at Underwood Family Farms

This is my favorite pumpkin patch because it is so much more than that. Underwood Family Farms is filled with activities that can be enjoyed by all ages. Several things are included with your ticket so while there are some activities that have an extra cost you can still have a great time whether you choose to purchase tickets for special activities or not.

Included with Admission

  • Photo Opportunities

There are several cute photo ops throughout the farm. Some of our favorites are the pumpkins in the playground near the entrance. The pumpkin is so fun for kids to play in and it’s adorable for photos. There is a great pumpkin house that is the perfect spot for photos. In the pumpkin patch itself, you will find multiple fun photo ops as well. If you will have kids with you look for the “How tall this fall” sign in the pumpkin patch so you can track their growth.

Tractor-drawn Wagon Rides

The tractor-drawn wagon ride takes visitors from the pumpkin patch to the back of the farm. You can stay on the wagon for the whole ride or if you’d like to do some of the activities like the corn maze or check out the u pick areas you can get off the wagon halfway through the ride. This is always one of my favorite activities to do.

  • Corn Maze

The corn maze is big but it is easy enough to make it to the center to see the hay pyramid.

  • Animal Center

There are so many animals that you can see like goats, a cow, sheep, birds, chickens, and more. Several spots have food dispensers. For a quarter you can get a small amount of food that is usually placed in a dispenser to go to the animals. There are a few areas that have the opportunity for visitors to get inside an enclosed area and pet/interact with some of the animals. These areas have an extra cost which will we go over below.

  • Play Equipment

I cannot wait until my baby is old enough to get to enjoy all of the fun play equipment that they have. There are swings, slides, tunnels, and a wooden school bus, train, and fire truck.

  • Animal Show – this is only taking place on the weekend.
  • Pig Races – this is only taking place on the weekend.
  • Wagons & Wheelbarrows are available to help you carry pumpkins on a first come first serve basis.

Extra Costs

There is a ticket booth inside the farm that sells tickets that can be used for activities that are not included in general admission. Prices of tickets:

1 Ticket $1
11 Tickets $10
23 Tickets $20
48 Tickets $40
100 Tickets $80

  • Corn Canon
  • Tomato Sling Shot
  • Bee Train/Cow Train
  • Duck Races
  • Face Painting
  • John Deere Train/Grain Train
  • Paint-a-Pumpkin/Scarecrow Craft
  • Pitch-a-Pumpkin
  • Ring-A-Pumpkin
  • Underwood Mining Co

  • U Pick Fields – entry to the U Pick Fields is included with admission but you will need to pay for any flowers or produce that you pick. They also sell these items at stands on the farm.
  • Pumpkin Patch – you don’t have to pay extra to walk around the pumpkin patch and take photos but there is a cost for the pumpkins depending on the size. They truly have every kind of pumpkin you can think of. The colors and sizes are sure to fit what everyone is looking for. Pumpkins are weighed at the exit to determine the price.
  • Petting Barns – there is a petting area with baby goats. It is 4 tickets for this experience. There is an additional petting barn that has larger goats as well as sheep. I believe that one is 4 tickets as well.

This is an experience that has so much to offer that it can take at least half of your day to enjoy it all. We love coming to Underwood Family Farms for some family fun.
