The 2023 LA County Fair is taking place in the spring to give attendees better weather. Opening day was May 5th and the fair will run through May 29th at the Pomona Fairgrounds. Elliott and I went to the fair recently and have a lot to share with you. We are going to share LA County Fair Hacks you need to know to save some money on your visit.

Discounted Tickets to the LA County Fair
If you want to buy discounted LA County Fair tickets you have several options to do so.
You can buy tickets directly from the LA County Fair website which is cheaper than purchasing the tickets in person at the gate. The tickets are $17 if purchased online but are $22 at the gate.
Superior Grocers is selling $15 adult and $10 child tickets for any day admission at participating locations.
Food Drive Thursdays on 5/18 you can bring 5 canned goods per person and get free entry to the fair from 11 am to 4 pm.
Parking
It costs $17 to park at the fair if you purchase parking ahead of time. It is $22 in person. You can park at the Pomona Transit Center and take the Foothill Transit line 197. Get off at White and McKinley and enter through the Red Gate. It is $1.75 each way. If you are paying with cash and not a tap card you’ll need to have exact change.
Food
You can bring your own reusable water bottles as long as they are empty when you enter but, we have never had luck finding the refill stations. Water bottles are fine as well as long as they come in empty. Warning about the water bottles though. You can bring in factory-sealed water bottles which might be the best option. There are a lot of participating food vendors that are offering $7.70 (plus tax) value menu items. You can see a list of participating vendors here.
Rides & Games
The only way to save on rides and games that I have found so far is to purchase a discounted ride package from Superior Grocers. They are offering 12 rides (except Titan) and up to 2 games for $40.
How to Get Free Concert Tickets at the LA County Fair
A limited number of general admission concert tickets may be available starting at 2 p.m. at the ticket booth at Rose Lane for select shows. Tickets are given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. Anyone wanting a ticket must be present. Free tickets are not available for John Fogerty, Billy Currington, Chris Janson, Lady A, and Jelly Roll.
Going to the fair is a fun experience even if you don’t go on any rides or play any games. There are so many exhibits to explore, animals to see, and other events to participate in and enjoy. We loved doing the silent disco at NextFest, seeing the ducks race, interacting with sheep and goats and so much more.
