Las Vegas is such a fun and exciting place to visit. Living in Southern California I am able to visit Vegas often as it is a quick plane ride and/or drive. My first time getting a free hotel room in Las Vegas was back in 2015 when my friend won a trip to see Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood. That amazing contest win included a two-night hotel stay. Not everyone is going to get that lucky, but anyone can learn how to get free hotel rooms in Las Vegas. Sure, you could use credit card rewards or other programs but what I am going to share with you doesn’t have to involve spending any money upfront.

How to Get Free Hotel Rooms in Las Vegas
Please note that this particular post will share information that only applies to MGM owned hotels in Las Vegas. There are four apps that you can download that have casino games that you can play. My Vegas Blackjack, My Vegas Slots, Pop Slots, and My Konami. I use all four apps so I can have a variety of what I play. Even if you only play games on one of the apps it is still a good idea to have more than once since they have different rewards. I mainly put the games on autoplay and have them going while I am doing other things.
The purple chips are what you use to play the games.
The gold coins that you earn can be redeemed to free hotel rooms. You can buy purple chips if you want to redeem a reward quicker. I have never done so as I would prefer to say my money for when I’m in Vegas. So far I have redeemed my coins for free nights at The Luxor, The Mirage, and The Bellagio. In addition to a free hotel room, you can also redeem your coins for free meals, shows, attractions, and more!
The amount of gold coins that you will need to earn in order to redeem a free hotel stay varies from hotel to hotel. Hotels like Excalibur and The Luxor require fewer coins than a night at The Bellagio or the Aria. You can redeem three premium rewards every thirty days but only one hotel room. However, occasionally some of the hotels will have a special where you can redeem multiple nights. This past February I was able to redeem a three-night stay in one reward at The Mirage.
The only thing that you have to pay for is the resort fee. I believe the resort fee for The Mirage and The Luxor was $40, but it was $50 for The Bellagio. Each reward will have different instructions on how to redeem it. For the buffets, which of course are closed for now due to COVID-19, you need to go to the M Life Rewards desk and have them load it on your M Life card.
I have also redeemed rewards for The Bellagio Buffet (my favorite one so far), the Aria Buffet, KA at the MGM, and the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. All of the other rewards are completely free minus tips for the meal. When we got our tickets for KA we did have to pay a service fee but that ended up getting refunded so it was 100% free and we sat in the third row!
If you have never been to Las Vegas before there are a few things that you should know. There will be food and drinks inside the room. If you pick one up to look at it, even if you don’t open it you will be charged. As long as you don’t open it you can dispute the charge with the hotel. For now, the hotels are bringing back free parking but if it goes away again, you can park for free at Treasure Island and walk to your hotel.
