It is no secret that I love going to tv show tapings. While most tapings require you to wait for a long time they are really fun for fans and provide a unique experience. Tapings are a wonderful opportunity to see some of your favorite stars in person and there is always the possibility that you get to meet some of them. If there is a tv show you are interested in just click on the name to be taken to the ticketing website.

tv show tapings in LA

I spoke with my friend TeArra Hardiman about our experiences attending Tv Show Tapings. We share what you can expect, how to get tickets, and tips to make your experience more enjoyable. You can listen to the podcast through Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Stitcher, or Podbean.

If you’re interested in learning how you can potentially get paid to sit in the studio audience for a show click here. *Please note though that those with free tickets will be admitted to shows first. So if you really want to attend the show reconsider trying to get paid to go.

I love sharing my experiences to help others have the best time possible when they attend a taping.  So far I have been to tapings of Dancing With The Stars, American’s Funniest Home Videos, the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Fuller House, and The Big Bang TheoryI also have a blog post about my experience as a contestant on Wheel of Fortune.

All of the tv shows listed below give out free tickets. In most cases though getting a ticket does not guarantee that you will make it into the taping. Producers like a full house so they give out more tickets than the number of seats they have in order to try and make sure every seat is filled. You can increase your chances of getting into a taping by arriving early.

Some shows as Dancing With the Stars run out of tickets almost immediately after they become available.  How can you try and get a ticket before they run out? Visit the ticketing sites to see upcoming filming dates and submit a request for tickets as soon as they become available.

Tips for Attending TV Show Tapings

  • Arrive early for popular shows
  • Bring a jacket as some of the studios can be cold
  • Consider bringing a sharpie and something for them to sign on the off chance you might get to meet someone. Sometimes security won’t allow you to bring some items in to get signed so a piece of paper might be the best.
  • Bring snacks and a water
